The Juncaceae Phylogeny Group was initiated during the Monocots III./Grasses IV. in 2003 with the goal of cooperation among the scientists in the world to combine a series of existing data sets of the Juncaceae family and also closer relative groups to produce a comprehensive phylogeny for the Juncaceae family. Our research has several main directions: (a) study of molecular phylogeny and evolution based on the genes and non-coding regions from plastome, chondriom and nucleus and comparative analysis of (b) morphology, anatomy and (c) karyology.
