March 3, 1946, Pilsen, CzechoslovakiaPresent position: senior research fellow Education: 1964-69: Faculty of Mathematics and Physics of the Charles University, Prague 1976: degree Candidatus Scientiarum (PhD equivalent) awarded by the Czechoslovak Academy of Sciences 1994: degree Doctor of Sciences (DrSc.) awarded by the Czechoslovak Academy of Sciences 2000: Associated Professor (habilitation in West Bohemia University Pilsen) 2001: Professor Professional experience: 1969-present: consecutively assistant, research fellow (since 1976) and senior research fellow (since 1981) in the Mathematical Institute of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic (former Czechoslovak Academy of Sciences). Head of the Department of qualitative methods of mathematical analysis of the Mathematical Institute in 1991-2000. Member of the Scientific Board of the Mathematical Institute in 1990-1998, head of this Board in 1992-96. Since 1998-partial position in the Center of Applied Mathematics, West Bohemia University Pilsen. Teaching activities: Since 1990-lectures and seminars on bifurcations and interpretations in natural sciences at the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics of the Charles University in Prague Since 1996-lectures on variational inequalities and biomathematics at the Faculty of Applied Sciences of the University of West Bohemia in Pilsen Field of interest: nonlinear analysis, differential equations, variational inequalities, bifurcations, reaction-diffusion systems Publishing activity: more than 60 publications including 50 original research papers |
