Linguistica  Pragensia is published twice a year by the Czech Language Institute of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic, a public research institution.Linguistica Pragensia  became a separate journal in 1991, when its predecessor, Philologica Pragensia, which contained both a linguistic and a literary part, had been divided into two journals, Linguistica Pragensia and Litteraria Pragensia.The parent journal Philologica Pragensia appeared from 1957 to 1990. It was founded by the Prague Linguistic Circle and exists from 1991 as an individual  scholarly peer- reviewed journal which is published twice a year.
