Foundations of Uncertainty:

Probability and Its Rivals

Alan Hajek, Colin Howson, Jim Joyce, Peter Milne, Jeff Paris, Glenn Shafer
, and  Teddy Seidenfeld.

The Department of Logic at the Institute of Philosophy of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic and the Formal Epistemology Research Group at the University of Konstanz are jointly organizing a colloquium on philosophical issues concerning uncertainty calculi, in particular interpretations of the probability calculus.


We invite submissions on the following topics:
Objective and subjective interpretations of probability
Other theories of uncertainty and their relation to probability
Logic and the foundations of probability
Philosophical aspects of the dynamics of subjective probability


Submissions of abstracts of not more than 1000 words should be made online, in PDF format, at
http://www.easychair.org/conferences/?conf=fupir09.

Please note that you have to create an easychair account before submitting your paper.
Submissions will be peer-reviewed, and should therefore be prepared for blind reviewing.

Deadline for submissions: March 31, 2009
Notification of acceptance: April 30, 2009

Conference fee: 170 EUR (200 EUR for late registration - after July 15)
The conference fee includes conference materials, coffee breaks, and the banquet
