Analysis of UV spectra of white dwarfs in binary systems
Ultraviolet spectra of hot white dwarfs provide a window for the study of
white dwarf atmospheres which are outshone in the optical spectrum.
The analysis of FUSE spectra of white dwarfs in binary systems will be
presented. By using the available models, the temperature, surface gravity
and chemical composition will be determined. In addition, the observed
photospheric lines in the FUSE spectra are used to trace the orbital path of
the white dwarf and hence place constraints on the binary parameters.
