A quantitative description of climate change due to enhanced greenhouse effect in selected Czech exposure units will be proposed for the assessment of impacts on hydrological regime and aquatic ecosystems in several deep stratified reservoirs. Site-specific projections of climate change will be based on daily weather variables simulated by 3 global circulation models (GCMs): ECHAM, CCCM, and ARPEGE-CLIMAT. Changes in runoff regimes from catchments of selected reservoirs will be simulated by a rainfall-runoff model (SACRAMENTO). Impacts on aquatic ecosystems of reservoirs will be assessed consecutively from the changes of stratification and hydrodynamics (model DYRESM) via fluctuation of input and concentrations of nutrients (using empirical models calibrated for each locality) towards the response of biological planktonic communities, especially biomass, species composition and seasonal cycles of phytoplankton, zooplankton and bacteria (based on analyses of long-term data in reservoirs Slapy, Římov, Želivka and Klíčava).
