Three Witnesses of a Vanished River Floodplain

A mire complex consisting of three large peatbogs was flooded by Lipno Reservoir in 1959. Due to this flooding, the peatbog area was substantially reduced, which resulted in a great loss of endangered species and communities. On the other hand, the adaptation of endangered plant species to the newly developed shoreline zone and formerly mined peatland areas could also be observed.
