The last part of this series is a reflection on specific features of Czech forestry. It focuses particularly on both technical and political aspects in forestry sector development and in its management practice and demonstrates those areas in which Czech forestry differs from Central–European standards. Whereas forestry in neighbouring countries has passed through various changes, development seems to have stopped during the last 15 years in the Czech Republic. This text should be considered more as a challenge inviting discussion and action than as a criticism.
