The project is directed to study high cycle and low cycle fatigue behaviour of austempered ductile cast iron - ADI. The principal aim of the investigations is to determine the effect of cycle asymmetry and loading mode on fatigue properties of ADI. Several variants of ADI are studied (especially different transformation temperatures are considered). The fatigue behaviour is evaluated on the basis of experimentally determined data: in particular cyclic stress-strain curves, Manson-Coffin curves, Wöhler curves, fatigue crack growth rate curves and Smith' and Haig's diagrams are obtained.
