Supercurrent through carbon-nanotube-based quantum dots

Abstract:
I will present an overview of recent theoretical as well as experimental studies on the superconducting transport in quantum dots formed of carbon nanotubes. I will address the whole crossover from the ballistic regime through open quantum dots to the Coulomb blockade case of nearly closed dots and demonstrate the theoretical predictions by the corresponding experimental results. Furthermore, the influence of the dissipation on the supercurrent will be theoretically considered and the challenges in the theoretically most difficult regime of intermediate coupling will be pointed out.
