One of the significant features of the current stage of scientific understanding of nature is the progressive development of boundary scientific disciplines aimed especially at obtaining knowledge on living systems. Biomechanics and its branch -hydromechanics of the cardiovascular system is contributing significantly to out knowledge of the processes that occur in both animate and inanimate matter. Suggested project follows several aims:
- A new hemodynamic laboratory is planned to be built up. This laboratory will be used for practises of a compulsory subject hemodynamic by students of an interdisciplinary study Biomedical and Rehabilitative Engineering and for practices of other fields of engineering, díploma works, research within the framework of Ph.D. studies and various scientific projects.
- An experimental device for modelling of interaction of heart ventricles during cardiac cycle will be designed and manufactured. The device will be used for scientific research and for student practice.
- It is planned to build up a new rig for experimental research of non-stationary flow of gas. This machinery will be used for biomechanical study as well as to solve problems of technical practise.
- This project presents continuation of the project GA CR No. 101 / 93 l 0879 (study of putsatile flow).
- Mathematical study of non-stationary flow will continue parallel to the project.
