On the new shell-phase and the slow-down of the galactic unclassified B[e] star HD50138

HD50138 is a curious galactic southern B[e] star whose the evolutonary stage is unknown. The presense of strong spectral variation have led different authors to classifiy this object in a very large range of spectral types and luminosity classes (from B5 to A0 and III to Ia) and also in different evolutionary stages, as mainly either an young HAeBe star or a classical Be star. In this talk, new results based on new high-resolution optical data, taken in 1999 and 2007, associated to a spectral energy distribution (SED) modeling, will be present. They seem to show that a new shell-phase and a slow-down of the star took place within these 8 years. A discussion about the possible reasons and evolutionary scenarios for this peculiar behaviour will be provided.
