Development of the mechanistic model of aggregation and its application for evaluation of formation of separable suspension at the water treatment

  • Identification: GA103/03/0346 - Grant Agency of the Czech Republic
  • Duration: 2003 - 2005
  • Principal investigator: RNDr. Silvestr Mutl, CSc.

Subject of research

Study of the influence of certain operationally significant physical and chemical factors affecting the inner structure of aggregates during the formation of separable suspension at the treatment of water, whereby the aggregates formed are characterisedby density, size and size- distribution in the treated water is the subject of this project. The aim of the project is the clarification of the influence of mutual ratio of the adhesion and tangential forces affecting the inner structure of aggregatesduring their formation and the development of mechanistic model of the formation of aggregates, which would describe the course of the aggregation process based on combining of particles formed during the partial development and by using the above todetermine physical characteristics of the technologically significant categories from the point of view of separation methods. The evaluation of changes in physical characteristics of the aggregating system which are dependent on the course of.

Research Goal

It was proved that:The attainable efficiency of the water treatment process is determined by chemical factors (type of destabilisation reagent, its dosage, character of impurities) acting in the initial phase of the process. From the hydrodynamic factors
