Three centipede species of the genus Cryptops occur in the Czech Republic. The species C. anomalans was not found there until 2006. The authors describe their distribution, morphology and bionomics as well as other remarkable features from the life of other scolopendrid centipede genera and families (from the order Scolopendromorpha) worldwide.
