Modelling influence of climatological changes on groundwater regime

  • Identification: 103/96/1327 - Grant Agency of the Czech Republic
  • Duration: 1996 - 1998

  • Co-investigator: Ing. Osvald Vašíček CSc. (Department of Applied Mathematics and Informatics, Masaryk University Brno)

Climatological changes are the main cause of the groundwater regime and variability of its exploitable quantity from resources. Knowledge of these relations is important from the point of view of the optimum exploitation of groundwater resources. The subject of this project solution will be clarification of causal relations between seasonal and long-term changes of the climate and storage and/or resources of groundwater on the basis of the analysis of climatological influences on the groundwater regime. Dynamical models will be used for the expression of these relations that will enable to simulate the system behaviour of different climatological conditions and variant regimes of the groundwater tanking. Practical application of discovered achievements will be aimed at their implementation for predictions and control of groundwater tankings from resources.
