The effect of interactive particles and suspending liquid on flow properties of dispersions and filled polymers

  • Identification: A2060703 - Grant Agency of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic
  • Duration: 1997 - 1999
  • Principal investigator: Ing. Pavel Říha CSc.

Dispersions and filled polymers are two-phase systems commonly with interactive structures owing to acting of interparticle abiding and induced forces. Evolution of the structure organization in the course of flow and deformation affects flow and technological properties of these systems. The macroscopic phenomena are thus yield behaviour, viscoelasticity and thixotropy, electrorheological effect, etc. Formulation of a theoretical approach to description of active organization of a particle structure and its effect on macroscopic phenomena, flow and deformation will take into account fundamental features of the considered systems. Representative systems as dense suspensions of fine particles, filled polymers, electrorheological suspensions and crystalline polymers will be experimentally studied and quantified not only in the Institute of Hydrodynamics but also in collaboration with cooperating Laboratories in France and Japan.
