Dynamics of vortical structures in the turbulent-wake interaction and relevant aspects of a structural description

The research work proposed represents a second stage of an investigation focused on the structure and vortex dynamics of a turbulent wake behind a pair of bluff bodies employing the coherent-structure concept and an adequate eduction process. Based on an extensive experimental data gathered during measurements in the turbulent plane wake behind a pair of square cylinders in side-by-side arrangement the proposed investigation aims at the detailed analysis of interacting coherent structure and turbulence. Further, the given problem motivates the interest towards specific features of the structural approach to wake-flow dynamics and the proposed work aims at a better qualitative insight into the relevant aspects of, the structural description.
