Optical line shape in individual quantum dots. Theory and experiment

Abstract:
The fast electron energy relaxation was suggested about 10 years ago, basing only on the electron-LO-phonon scattering mechanism. The theory used the self-consistent Born approximation to the electron-LO-phonon scattering, together with instant collisions approximation and Kadanoff-Baym ansatz. The self-consistent Born approximation itself, manifested nicely in the electronic spectral density, seems to be found in a remarkably good agreement with experiments, like optical emission and photocurrent spectroscopy on individual quantum dots and also by numerical experiments. The purpose of the talk is to turn the attention to this comparison with experiments.
