Calculated Magneto-Optical Kerr Spectra of the uranium compounds UX2Si2 (X = Ni, Ru) and the (half-) Heusler alloys AuMnX (X = In, Sn, Sb) and Co2FeSi

Abstract:
Recently the Magneto-Optical Kerr Effect was measured for the Heusler alloy AuMnSn and for the uranium compound UNi2Si2. By means of a relativistic Augmented Spherical Wave (ASW) scheme the electronic structures of these, and related, materials were calculated. These information in turn were used to calculated the optical-conductivity tensor elements σxx and σxy, which determine e.g. the Kerr angle θK and ellipticity εK. Furthermore the calculated results for the Heusler alloy Co2FeSi will be shown, since in a recent publication measurements were presented in which an extra ordinary high magnetic moment of 6 μB/f.u. was obtained.
