Electron states in mixed (Ga,Mn)As crystals

Abstract:
The substitution of Mn in II-V compounds is, in contrast to traditional II-VI semimagnetic semiconductors, not isoelectronic, and the mixed crystals are highly degenerate p-type semiconductors with an enhanced disorder. This leads to novel important features (ferromagnetic exchange, smeared absorption edge) and opens fundamental questions (ground state of Mn "impurity", long range fluctuations and screening of the electric potential, trapping and localization of the holes).
