Investigating recent organisms which may become fossils, actuoecology allows paleontologists to seek for patterns between the structure of particular communities and environmental factors. Deposition of protozoan communities of testaceans (Testacea) in sediments of various water types was studied in the Šumava/Bohemian Forest Mts.
