Three subspecies of Iris aphylla have been traditionally distinguished in the Czech Republic, all of them occuring in the České středohoří region. Irises growing in Hazmburk near Libochovice, Skalka near Vratislav and Visálek near Dubany are phenotypically distinct and may represent different evolutionary units.
