Electromechanical testing system Instron 5882 is used for accurate characterization of various mechanical properties. Advanced electronic provides precise control via PC and fast data acquisition (up to 5 kHz) from all channels (crosshead, loading cell and extensometer(s)). The system is equipped for tensile testing, compression testing and bending, and after adjustment for peel, friction and component testing. Extensive accessories enable to study many elastic (e.g. Poisson ratio, Young’s modulus) and plastic properties (e.g. yield and maximum stress, elongation to failure) at wide temperature range, strain rates and deformation modes according to international industrial standards as well as according to laboratory needs. Apart from standard testing modes, software also provides additional modes of control for advanced applications that require more than the standard mode of position control. It is possible to control crosshead movement as a function of load, stress, strain and true strain. High level of non-standard testing is also enhanced by user-programmability (LabView drivers) or by definition of waveform functions.
