This continuation of the series on Papua New Guinea (PNG) describes the flora and vegetation of the lowlands, in the zone up to 1,000 m above sea level, whose diversity inter alia matches different ecological conditions in different localities of the island. Not only the flora of Australian savannas in the south-western part of PNG can be found there, but also Indo-Malaysian flora as a dominant component of lowland vegetation.
