The territory of the Prague Zoological Garden provides millipedes (Diplopoda) with many suitable habitats. In various habitat types, mainly influenced by humans, 23 species were found. Some of them are rare in the Czech Republic. One millipede species has been found there alone in the Czech Republic as a whole. The population decline of the invertebrates and their recovery after the catastrophic floods in August 2002 are assessed in the article.
