The Basking Shark (Cetorhinus maximus) is a huge passive feeder. It is the world's second largest shark, reportedly reaching a total length of 12 m. The author describes a typical sighting of the shark near the coast in Croatian Istria. Special attention is paid to the anatomical and morphological adaptations of these sharks.
