Bacillus thuringiensis represents the insecticide with selectivity that cannot be reached by synthetic chemicals. The direct use of the culture even at exact timing does not provide complete protection of crops and kills non-target organisms feeding on weeds. Therefore the transfer of toxin formation directly to the plant cell by gene engineering represents optimal solution.
