How to Survive - The Strategy of Plants in the Negev Desert

Guttermann Y.

The Negev Desert in Israel is a part of the two greatest deserts of the world - the Sahara and the Arab Deserts. Precipitation is a restrictive factor for the existence of plants in this area. Their distribution differs greatly from year to year, and there is no precipitation at all in some years. Plants of the Negev Dessert have therefore developed a wide range of adaptations to ensure their survival.
