Prorhinotermes simplex - nephrocyte

Nephrocytes are sedentary phagocytotic cells located usually above the dorsal vein. High level of decomposition occurs in these cells. On this micrograph is shown decomposition of proteinaceuos granules by myelin figures (neotenic male of termite Prorhinotermes simplex).
