International conference Geonics 2007
Aims and topics
The conference Geonics 2007 (official invitation) is held on the occasion of 25 years from founding of the Mining Institute of the Czechoslovak Academy of Sciences in Ostrava. After 1989, this institute extended its interests, incorporated a branch of geography in Brno and changed its name to the Institute of Geonics AS CR.
The conference is therefore focused multi-disciplinary on topics, which are included in the research plan of the Institute of Geonics AS CR, mainly: in-situ measurements in geomechanics; laboratory investigation of geomaterials; geophysics, seismology and geodesy; mathematical modelling, computer science; disintegration of materials; environmental geography.

Conference Geonics 2007 will be held at the Institute of Geonics AS CR in Ostrava-Poruba in the period 23 - 25 / 05 / 2007. The conference languages will be Czech and English. Accommodation can be booked at the Hotel Sport club in Ostrava-Poruba (about 15 minutes walking distance from the institute). The price of accommodation is 500 - 1000 CZK per day and will be paid at the hotel reception. |
Conference fee 1700 CZK (including 19% VAT) covers participation in the conference and social meeting, refreshment and proceedings.

Conference proceedings
The conference proceeedings will be published as a monothematic issue in the series Documenta Geonica and will be printed grayscale only. Contributed lecture papers should not contain more than 6 pages, length of invited lecture papers is normally not more than 18 pages. The papers should be written in Czech with English abstract or in English with Czech abstract. In the case of authors not writing in Czech, the English abstract will be translated into Czech by editors. The text should be given in MS Word format (template with instructions for authors) and should be sent in electronic form to the conference e-mail address.
Important deadlines
- 31 / 01 / 2007 registration, sending abstract of the length 200 - 300 words
- 15 / 02 / 2007 second circular and information on publication of contributions, publication style
- 25 / 04 / 2007 sending of written contributions prepared according to a given style
