Finding a Dice Snake Population in Těšín Silesia

Vlček P., Jablonski D.

The Dice Snake (Natrix tessellata) is di¬stributed over a large area. In the Czech Republic, its northernmost limit of distribution is along some rivers in Bohemia and South Moravia. First records of the snake in Silesia, isolated from these areas, date back to 1997. Nevertheless, the first reproducing population was found there as late as 2009. Having examined the po¬pulation, the authors present the first in¬formation on it.
