The Tengmalm´s Owl - a Successful Species of Secondary Grasslands Caused by Air Pollution

Nest boxes erected in the Krušné hory Mts. (North Bohemia), which are heavily damaged by air pollution, support increasing numbers of the Tengmalm´s Owl (Aegolius funereus) there. The nesting biology, food strategy, predation pressure and reproduction outputs of this avian predator have been studied in detail by the author.
