Viruses and Multiple Sclerosis

Roubalová K.

Multiple sclerosis is a self-immune chronic inflammatory illness of the central nervous system resulting in demyelinization of the nervous axons. The illness appears mainly among people of productive age. Its result is partial or total invalidity due to a handicap of the motor or sense organs. A wide range of indirect proofs exist supporting the infection origin of multiple sclerosis. The most suspicious are herpetic viruses, which after primary infection survive in a latent state in the hosting organism for its entire life.
