p. 233-235
The South Luangwa National Park in Zambia is a very interesting place for studies of African mammal zoogeography and evolution, because various geographical barriers (changes in Luangwa and Zambezi River directions, formation of the Great African Rift Valley) were created there. Nowadays, a lot of local and regional endemics live there, e.g. Thornicroft’s (Rhodesian) Giraffe (Giraffa camelopardalis thornicrofti), Puku (Kobus vardonii senganus) or Crawshay’s Zebra (Equus quagga crawshayi).
