Linnaea borealis - Beauty among Boreal Plants

Resner V.

Only one representative of the genus Linnaea - L. borealis from the family Caprifoliaceae originates in the boreal conifer forests and tundra of Northern Eurasia and North America and even crosses the Polar Circle. The species is very rare in Central Europe (it is a glacial relict). In many original sites it can no longer be found and even present sites are endangered.
