Stele Theory

The term "stele" (in Greek "column") refers to the system of vascular knots (the central cylinder of primary conductive tissues). Stele theory deals with the description and phylogenic development of various types of stele, which have been developed during the evolutionary process of tracheophytes in different organs of various systematic groups of plants.
