TRPV1 receptors on peripheral nerve endings represent integrators of noxious stimuli, but their role in the spinal cord is not fully understood. Application of low concentration of N-Oleoyl-dopamine did not activate these receptors. However, under conditions of inflammatory pain these receptors become sensitized and application of the same concentration of OLDA leads to increased frequency od excitatory postsynaptic currents recorded in spianl cord dorsal horn neurons.
