5. Simulation of an equilibrium market rent in the Czech Republic and of the financial and social impact resulting from an introduction of income-tested housing policy instruments
Introduction
The goal of this chapter is to attempt, using a relatively complex simulation model, to estimate the equilibrium rent in the Czech context and the minimum rent required by private investors in the sector of rental housing, to propose a concrete possible form of two basic instruments increasing the affordability of housing - social housing and a housing allowance - and to quantify their social and economic impact.
