Optical Filter

We have investigated the possibilities of producing optical filters for the FD in the Czech Republic. Finally was chosen commercial filter Mug-6, manufactured by Schott- Desag.

We would like to present the two types of filter which we prepared.

The first type is a composition of two glass plates. This is the best solution in our opinion as such a filter exhibits a longer lifetime compared to a filter with vacuum deposited layers, it has better spectral characteristics (see the graphs) and finally it has higher wear resistance, which may prove valuable especially after several cleaning rounds.
