Pavel Hobza graduated from the Technical University Prague in 1969 and received a PhD title from Czechoslovak Academy of Sciences in 1973. Subject of this PhD thesis were Molecular interactions. From political reasons he cannot continue the carreer at the Academy of Sciences and moved to Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology, Prague. In 1986 he moved to Institute of Organic Chemistry and Biochemistry, Czechoslovak Academy of Sciences and in 1990 to Institute of Physical Chemistry. Habilitation at Faculty of Science, Charles University defended in 1992 and in 2002 become there professor of physical chemistry. At present he is the head of Department of Molecular Modelling and head of the Center for Biomolecules and Complex Molecular Systems.
PH is active in computational chemistry and published more then 320 papers and 2 books. His works were cited to the end of 2008 more than 13 000x.
