J. Heyrovsky Institute of Physical Chemistry of the ASCR, v.v.i., offers
***One postdoctoral position is available in the group of Dr. Stepan Sklenak at the J. Heyrovsky Institute of Physical Chemistry of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic, Prague, Czech Republic. The postdoctoral fellow will use periodic DFT and QM/MM approaches to model the structure, reactivity, catalytic activity and properties of zeolite based materials. The scientific work will be done in a close collaboration with experimentalists. The positions require a strong scientific background in either computational (applied quantum) chemistry (experience with QM/MM and periodic DFT approaches is a plus) or solid state physics (experience with periodic DFT approaches for studying crystalline solids is a plus). The applicant must hold a PhD. degree in chemistry or physics. Interested individuals should send an e-mail containing their CV, brief summary of previous research, list of publications and names plus e-mail addresses of 1 - 2 references. The position is initially for 1 year with a possibility of an extension.
The position will be financed by the GACR project No. 203/09/1627.
***One postdoctoral position is available in the Mass Spectrometry Group (Dr. Ján Žabka, CSc. ) at the J. Heyrovsky Institute of Physical Chemistry of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic, Prague, Czech Republic.
The project aims to obtain data on the kinetics and dynamics of reactions of ions with molecules relevant for modeling Titan's atmosphere and ionosphere, including the identification of processes that determine the reaction cross sections and describe the mechanisms required for planetologists to create numerical models. A combination of several experimental techniques will be utilized for these purposes, namely guided-ion beam mass spectrometry (GIB MS), and collision induced dissociation mass-analyzed ion kinetic energy spectrometry (CID MIKES).
The position requires a scientific background in physical chemistry, mass spectrometry techniques, and ion-molecular reaction in the gas phase.
The applicant must hold a PhD. degree in chemistry or physics (max. April 2012).
Interested individuals should send an e-mail containing their CV, brief summary of previous research, list of publications and names plus e-mail addresses of 1 - 2 references. The position is initially for 1 year with a possibility of an extension, net salary ~1000 euro monthly.
The position will be financed by the GACR project No. P208/11/0446.
*** One postdoctoral position is available in the group of Dr. Jiri Pittner. It is funded by rhe new project of GACR No. P208/12/0559: Ab initio molecular dynamics with non-adiabatic and spin-orbit effects applied to time-dependent fluorescence.
The main task of the postdoctoral fellow will be implementation of spin-orbit coupling into a molecular dynamics code. The position requires knowledge of relativistic quantum chemistry and prior experience with development of quantum chemical program(s). The applicant must hold a PhD degree in physics or chemistry. Initial duration of the contract will be 1 year, with a possibility for extension till 2016.
The interview will be held on February 7, 2012 (J. Heyrovsky Institute of Physical Chemistry of the AS CR - room 108, start at 9:00).
Application should consist of the application form, a CV with a publication record, professional experience, awarded prizes and honors, etc.
Please submit the completed application (see in pdf file) till 31 January, 2012 to:
