Academy in Distress
The Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic called EXTRAORDINARY SESSION OF THE ACADEMIC ASSEMBLY. Extraordinary Session took place on 30 June 2009 from 9.30am at National House in Prague's Vinohrady district. More information you will find on www.cas.cz/en/.
The main topic of the Meeting was to discuss the future of funding the science and research in Czech Republic in relation to the AS CR. The methodology that the Research and Development Council helped to create became the universal tool for distributing money to the whole Czech science. On the basis of this methodology, the institutional financial grant for the AS CR should be cut down about 20 % in 2009 and about 50 % in 2012.
