Featured this month is an article by Professor Jaroslav Panek of the ASCR’s Institute of History on the project Rosenberg Year. This year is the 400th anniversary of the death of Petr Vok, the last male descendant of the Rosenberg family. The project aims to introduce the public to the historical role and cultural work of the Rosenberg family and elucidates this legacy for the present. The project was initiated in commemoration of this culturally important family by the National Heritage Institute which manages the former residences of the Rosenberg family – Rosenberg Castle, Český Krumlov Castle, Třeboň Chateau and Kratochvíle Chateau.
One of the exhibitions, The Rosenbergs, family of Czech magnates and its journey through history, was mounted for the Waldstein Riding School in Prague by the National Heritage Institute in collaboration with other cultural institutions.
