Program versions
If you have very new versions of graphic program, check the current version used by IT staff for printing. Sometimes, compatibility problems may arose. Higher versions usually allow savings in previous formats.
Inserting photos
Quality photos do not mean high resolution, for example 5 Mpix. Reduce size to required value and insert them in 300 dpi resolution. Big files means problems; vector graphics over 25 MB cannot be printed. On the other side, pictures under 96 dpi will be rough. In AI: menu Document setup - Printing & export (Ctrl+Alt+P) set resolution to 300 dpi.
Colors
Use CMYK color model and colors from palette Pantone. Color transition is due to have at least 256 steps otherwise interfering strips are visible. In MS Office (MS Powerpoint) CMYK model is not available.
Poster size
Templates for CorelDraw and Adobe Ilustrator are available, where optimal values for great, middle and small poster are adjusted.
Paper choice
White inject paper is suitable for simple schemes without background, for example building plans. Heavy Coated paper can be used for any sort of prints, only large dark areas causes "wrapping". HP Photo Imaging Gloss is glossy foil for all prints, especially for photos and presentations.
