Instructions for use of ftps server lexy.uochb.cas.cz

Ftps server is designed for data sharing among the users. Programs execution is not possible due to the lack of file locks. Only ciphered authentication is needed, data are not ciphered.

• For the login, credentials (employees ID/password) from Intranet system (albina) are used. The account is created during the first login, the successful login into Intranet in previous day is required.
• About 10 min after first connection, links to the folders of member groups are created. The common folder _share has public access for the whole Institute.
• The limited space of 1.5 GB per user is provided, after reaching this quote, no additional data are stored.

Possible access and clients:

• https://lexy.uochb.cas.cz/net2ftp - web ftp server application, all transactions can be realized without necessity of client installation. Only file size is limited to 400 MB.

• Filezilla download (Windows, Linux and others)
  The connection is created using menu File/Site Manager/New site with parameters:

       Host: lexy.uochb.cas.cz
       Protocol: FTP – File Transfer protocol
       Encryption: Require Explicit FTP over TLS
       Logon Type: Ask for password
       User: [your ID]
  

  Next connection is accomplished with Site Manager and selection of saved connection.
• Total Commander 7 and higher (Windows) (WIN)
  The correct function of ftps client in Total Commander require install of OpenSSL libraries (Light version is enough – see http://www.slproweb.com/products/Win32OpenSSL.html). Another prerequisite is Visual C++ 2008 Redistributables, which have to be present previously. Ask IT support service for help.
