Advanced polymer materials and supramolecular systems: Synthesis and research on properties, phenomena and implementation in special applications and innovative technologies

Research will be focused on controlled synthesis of polymers and supermolecular systems leading to products with uniform and defined structure and specific utility values and on development of new theories explaining physical and chemical behavior of the studied systems. Attention will be paid to study of ordered systems formed by interaction of synthetic, synthetic and natural macromolecules or, in addition, with low–molecular–weight substances, performed on atomic, molecular and supermolecular levels. Attention will be focused on the development of new smart materials, responding to environment stimuli, materials for bioengineering and biomimetics, bioconjugates for drug transport and gene therapy, and materials for membranes, sensors, photonics and microelectronics. The research on technical polymers will be focused on improvement of utility value of polymer blends and development of recyclable and biodegradable materials as well as materials formed from renewable natural resources.
