The aim of the project is to interconnect knowledge on the Late Pleistocene and Holocene terrace systems of Slovak and Hungarian river valleys in the area of Visegrad Gorge of the Danube River. The main research methods involve geomorphological study approach (evaluation of lithological types spatial distribution including investigation of borehole data, morphostructural analysis, recognition of fluvial network changes) and palaeoenvironmental reconstruction (fluvial sedimentology, indicators of climatic changes in lithostratigraphical record, chronometric dating).
