RECRUITMENT - Two new POSTDOCTORAL positions (dead line for application April 30)

J. Heyrovsky Institute of Physical Chemistry of the ASCR, v.v.i., offers:

***One postdoctoral position (one year stay with optional prolongation), funded by the Czech Science Foundation, is open in the group of Dr. Jiri Pittner.

Applicants should have PhD. in physics or chemistry, an experience with electronic structure method development (CC, DMRG, etc.), and skills in programming (C++ and/or Fortran).
The successful applicant will be involved in development of DMRG-based externally corrected multireference coupled cluster methods.

*** One postdoctoral position (one year stay with optional prolongation) in the group of Dr. Martin Srnec. The position is funded by the CSF project: "Redox properties and reactivity of non-heme iron active sites".

Applicants should have PhD. in chemistry, an experience with QM, QM/MM and coupled valence bond modeling of enzymatic catalysis.

The successful applicant will be involved in calculations of redox properties of nonheme iron active sites and elucidation of their effects on reactivities and selectivities with respect to a possible design of new catalysts.

More specifically, he or she will work on one of the following topics:
1) Theoretical protocol for calculations of redox potentials of bioinorganic complexes.
2) Redox properties and reactivity of non-heme iron active sites.
3) S-adenosylmethionine-dependent enzymes and mobility of radicals in enzymes.
