Steppes in Kasristskali (კასრისწყალი) village environs

One of interesting localities visited during our trip to Georgia were vast steppes located south of Kasristskali (კასრისწყალი) village in Kakheti Region of Eastern Georgia. These arid lowlands (altitude 50-150 m), characterized by its dry climate, are notable for its unique, bad-land-like landscape covered by desert and semi-desert steppe vegetation.

From species, which we found here, is necessary to remind following Cerambycid taxa:

• Agapanthia (Smaragdula) persicola Reitter, 1894
• Mallosia (Semnosia) galinae (Danilevsky, 1990)
• Phytoecia (Helladia) armeniaca armeniaca Frivaldszky, 1878
• Phytoecia (Helladia) humeralis (Waltl, 1828)
• Phytoecia (Helladia) pretiosa Faldermann, 1837
• Phytoecia (Musaria) puncticollis puncticollis Faldermann, 1837
• Phytoecia (Musaria) faldermanni Faldermann, 1837
• Phytoecia (Phytoecia) caerulea caerulea (Scopoli, 1772)
