According to Martin Rejzek et al. [✧] Phytoecia (Pygoptosia) eugeniae develops in Centaurea behen (Asteraceae).

The depicted beetles were collected on Centaurea behen in Dorud (52 km SE Borugerd, Zagros Mts., prov. Lorestan, NW Iran).
